• Jitterbug M&M (Only those who started swing dancing for the first time after Jan. 1. 2024 can participate.)

• Rookie 1 M&M (Only those who started swing dancing for the first time after Oct. 1. 2023 can participate.)

• Rookie 2 M&M (Only those who started swing dancing for the first time after Oct. 1. 2022 can participate.)

[Multiple Entries]

• Multiple entries in all divisions are allowed, but in the case of level divisions, even if you make to the finals multiple times, you can only participate in the upper division.

[Winning Prize Benefits]

• Medals awarded for 1st-3rd place (semi-finalists will be awarded a tie for 3rd place without a 3rd-4th place match)

• All the City/(Regional) Level Battle Winners will be seeded for the second round(Tournaments) same division of the Final Showdown.

• Final Showdown All-Star level winners will be invited to serve as judges for next year's battle competitions.

• Winner prizes include free admission to local dance halls.

[Examination criteria]

  * All participants must meet the requirements for each divisoins, and may be disqualified if they do not meet the requirements.

  * The judges' evaluation criteria are in accordance with internationally accepted standards.

  * The results of the preliminary will be announced through a tap-in method immediately after the prelims / In the case of the final showdown, the results will be announced after consultation with the judges, not immediately after the end.

  * The results of the final rounds will be announced at the awrards after consultation with the judges, not immediately after the end.

  * Final evaluation results and scores will be announced on the website at a later date.

  * If an unannounced problem occurs, it will be handled by the head judge's decision.

[Competition Rules]

  * Guidelines for Open and Advanced Division levels are provided, but they are not absolute restrictions and applications can be made at your own discretion.

  * The standard date for battle competition experience is the same every year, OCT 1st. ※ Note: KLHC standard date is ARL 1st. (6 months difference)

  * Duplicate applications and multiple entries are possible for the level category, but only the higher divisions can participate in the finals. If you advance to the second round of upper divisions, you cannot participate in the lower division preliminary round/ No refund for it.

 * In the Medium/Slow Lindy category, which is not the level category, multiple sign up and multiple prizes are possible.

  * Divisions may be canceled or merged if there are less than 10 couples.

[Cautions]

  * Participants must be 18 years of age or older; if younger, a parental consent form must be provided.

  * There are no restrictions on clothing, but clothing that will elicit sympathy and response from the audience is requested.

  * Check the location of the number tag (Leader: middle of the back/ Follwer : Between the waist and hips)

  * Complete preparations 15 minutes prior to competition and wait at the preliminaries venue.

  * Failure to check in by the designated time may result in disqualification.

[Refund Policy]

  * After the application deadline, the participation fee is non-refundable.

  * 100% refund up to 1 week before the event

  * Non-refundable within 1 week of event / transferable (However, in the case of Final Showdown, it can be converted to credit after deduction)

[Workshop]

• Class 1 : Be Yourself Dancing Lindy Hop 

Creating moves can be easy when you are working with your partner. In this class the goal will be to learn a methodology to develop new movements and shapes in the Lindy Hop.

Sonia and Hector will help us being creative by focusing in the creative process of the move: Influences, inspiration, Leader-Follower relationship, Musicality, etc.

• Class 2 : Power Moves 

Sonia and Hector will teach movements that change speed or/and play height changes. For example, slowing down a movement to speed it up after and finish it with a jump. These are movements that work well in “Jam Circles” or competitions always keeping in mind the social part of the dance.
